9 th inter schools sports meet


DEC celebrated 9th Interschool Sports Meet on 18.08.2022 at Babu Jagajeevan Ram playground (Madras Port Trust ground,) Tondiarpet. There are about 500 children with intellectual disabilities, autism and spastic with parents, caretaker and staff were participated in the events. The participated schools are

1. KRM Special School - Perambur

2. Care Special School- Korattur

3. Carmel Special School- Avadi

4. Opportunity- Nappalayam

5. Spastic Society of Tamilnadu- Washermanpet

6. Anbumalar- Sholavaram

7. Avvai Kappagam- Tolgate

8. Srishtika- Perambur

9. Seva trust- Manali New Town

10. Faith Special School- Thirunindravur

11. Kumaran Special School- Ennore

12. Anbalaya Rural Special School- Tiruvallur

13. Anbalaya Special School- Thiruvottiyur


The programme started with students parade and the honour accepted by Mr.G.Dhamodharan (TCOA Group of companies Public Founder). Our school Founder Mr. K. Prabhakaran presented a welcome speech.Olympic Torch Light lighted by Mr. Nagaraj (North Chennai TCOA) then our Inter school Sports Meet started with declared of sports meet by Mr. G.Sekar (North Chennai State Secretary TCOA). Unfortunately the police officials unable to present but Mr. Karthick, Arangaval Trustee encouraged all the special schools and the teachers for their efforts and distributed prizes.

The Athletic individual competitions for male and female track events are 25m, 50m, 100m, Relay, and the field events are Shot Put, Soft Ball Standing Long Jump, and with team events for lower ability Bocce. Everybody enjoyed and the children proved their talents and abilities by their active attempt. They happily participated in all Sports events and received prizes. In whole programme YMCA College of Physical education Student worked as a Volunteer in best way.

9th Inter School Sports Meet Championship won by KRM Special School. All the participated schools got participation prizes. The Special schools Heads are given opportunity to share about the programme. They felt that there is no partiality seen in the game, and everyone has the chance to participate and enjoyed the day.

The vote of thanks by the principal Arokia Mary explained about the support of Indian Oil Corporation for the programme venue, food and prizes for the children. The other sponsors are TCOA PF, DABUR health drinks, Lotte and Mr Binesh. We always receive support from IOC and we extend our sincere thanks for the donors for the day very enjoyably .
