There is a unique kind of energy that fills a room when hard work meets opportunity. Recently, the DEC-Anbalaya Employment Training Center was transformed into a space of immense pride and celebration as it hosted the graduation ceremony for the latest cohort of Pankh students.

Pankh, an initiative by the Trust for Retailers & Retail Associates of India (TRRAIN), aims to create sustainable livelihoods for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs). The graduation was not just a certification of skills, but a testament to the resilience of the human spirit.

Honoring the Journey

The event was graced by distinguished guests who have been instrumental in advocating for inclusive growth:

Advocate Mr. Thomas: A staunch supporter of social justice, Mr. Thomas shared inspiring words on the legal and social rights of PwDs, encouraging the graduates to navigate their professional lives with confidence and dignity.

Mr. Dhamodaran: Project Officer at TRRAIN, whose presence highlighted the organization’s commitment to bridging the gap between talent and the retail industry.

Empowering Through Skill

The classroom, decorated with posters showcasing retail modules—from "Shelves & Bay" to "Food and Beverage"—served as the perfect backdrop. The graduates, dressed in their signature blue Pankh uniforms, stood tall as they received their certificates.

These students have undergone rigorous training designed to prepare them for the fast-paced retail sector. The curriculum focuses on:

Customer Service Excellence

Inventory Management

Life Skills and Communication

Workplace Ethics

"Engage. Empower. Skill. Place." – This motto, visible on the center’s walls, was lived out in every smile and every firm handshake during the ceremony.

A Community of Support

One of the most touching aspects of the day was the interaction between the students and the staff. From the trainers at DEC-Anbalaya to the representatives from TRRAIN and Shoppers Stop, it was clear that this success was a collective effort.

The presence of family members added an emotional layer to the event. For many parents, seeing their children hold a professional certificate represents a future of financial independence and social inclusion that once felt out of reach.

Looking Ahead

As these newly minted professionals prepare to enter the workforce, they carry with them more than just technical knowledge; they carry the "wings" (Pankh) to fly. The partnership between DEC-Anbalaya and TRRAIN continues to be a beacon of hope, proving that with the right training and a supportive environment, disability is never a barrier to excellence.

Congratulations to the graduates! The retail world is waiting for you.
