The Development Education Centre- AnbalyA, conducted a Women’s Day program to celebrate the International Women’s Day. The chief guest of the day was Dr. Premilla from the Adyar Cancer Institute, Chennai. During this program, DEC arranged for a special free of cost cancer screening camp in the school premises for women. Many women parents and women from the neighboring communities made use of this opportunity. Atmost 50 women get screened in the camp.
Furthermore, the DEC, honored 5 women for their exemplary service during the lockdown because of the covid pandemic. The Chief Nurse from Sugam Hospital, Pani Roseline, and a doctor from Suman Hospital, Dr. Anbuselvi also participated in this. The woman constable from H8 police, Rukmani also delivered a talk on the present stage of women and how women should protect themselves in the current context. The Sanitation supervisor Muthulakshmi , Amma Unavagam supervisor Jothilakshmi also participated in the event. All these 5 women were honored and awarded by the organization for their outstanding work during the time of pandemic. The Secretary Mr. K. Prabhakaran and Mrs. Arokiya Mary addressed the gathering about womanhood and the how important of a role they play in every circumstance and how most of the time they go unnoticed. The day’s program came to an end with a wonderful dance performance by the differently abled girl students of the school.
